I believe a good way to approach the search for a husband is to view it like a career. For all intents and purposes, many women make “being a wife” their career. Sure, some of them maintain jobs and separate lifestyles, and perhaps you’re one of those women. However, the type of woman the advice on this site is intended for is the type of woman who is trying to make a career out of being a wife.
The men you date and the potential future husbands you spend time around are, in a way, conducting a job interview with you. Dating is essentially an extravagant interview in which each party is testing the waters to see if they’re a good fit. Of course, you don’t actually have a paper resume that you hand to potential husbands. But you do have a resume!
Whether you realize it or not, men are piecing together your “wife resume” while the two of you are dating. There are a few things he wants to see on that resume in order to consider you as wife material.
A past relatively free of promiscuity.
Whether or not you actually have such a past isn’t necessarily relevant. What’s important is how you convey your past. Sure, no guy expects you to be a virgin, but they certainly don’t want to be marrying the retired village bicycle either. Keep all those stories of random hookups, one-night stands, and drunken college debachery on the down low. Emphasize how you “only sleep with boyfriends”. Even if that hasn’t always been the case, it needs to be a new rule you employ in the search for a husband.
What does your guy want?
Figure out the hot-buttons of the guy you’re dating. Does he care if you are able to cook? Does he place a high importance on alone time? Does he want a freak in the bedroom? You get the idea…
Once you know what your guy wants, give him that! It works the same way in a job interview: you figure out what your employer wants, and you make it clear to them that you’re the person for the job!
Don’t forget the intangibles.
There are a few qualities about people that everyone likes
- Attractiveness
- A good sense of humor
- Self-respect
- Always smiling
By and large, having these traits is a good thing for any area of your life. The search for a husband is no exception. Drop those extra pounds, visit the dentist, and work on your confidence.
The world will respect you if you show the world that you respect yourself!
